About Us

Madhuram Jaya

We are a mother-daughter duo of foodies, who are constantly innovating with new vegetarian recipes. Amma has vast experience in cooking, having gleaned tips and tricks from her grandmother. Her old wives tales about spices and masalas and curries date back to the 1900s. I am into searching for and trying out healthy vegetarian recipes. This blog is about food – vegetarian food, Indian food and Indian recipes.

I also write a personal blog – mostly about life and politics and things that interest me – http://themusehit.wordpress.com

    I can’t cook! Unlike Ratatouille.
But I like to eat. So when I saw your blog flashing past on Alphainventions, I had to stop and look.
    Good blog!
I was wondering if you should check out http://www.squidoo.com/Blogroll-India and submit your blog.
Also check out Squidoo. You may get a good platform to spread your food.
    Cheers!

    Hi Jaya,

Nice blog! I too am a foodie. Check out my website and if you like it, please add me to your blogroll.

I also wanted to ask your permission about using your shoestring budget recipes on my website. I will give you credit for those of course.

I am in chennai, presently and I see my domestic helper and others who really don’t have much money to provide a good meal for their family. Sadly, such are the people, who will not get benefited from your recipes. I feel very sad about them. I was amazed when my servant once asked me to give her a portion of bottle gourd (that I had discarded). After that incident I make it a point not to waste food.

There are so many people who cannot afford to eat, what we easily discard.
